Pathwise is a site dedicated to people living with chronic illnesses and disabilities. We address the many issues facing these populations by Providing Advocacy Through Health, Work, Insurance Strategies & Education (P.A.T.H.W.I.S.E.). One of our main goals is to get people to thinking differently about disability and economics. Pathwise was formed because there is a complete absence in the nonprofit world of an organization whose mission is to help people with chronic illnesses and disabilities to create viable plans that will enable them to achieve true long-term financial independence. As a consequence, many people with disabilities and chronic illnesses have lives that are primarily constrained by economic factors; an improvement in overall economic circumstances is the single change that is most likely to result in an overall improvement in their quality of life. Independent living cannot truly exist without economic independence. 
Pathwise was formed to further the goal of economic independence among and for people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. We embrace the concept of independent living in its most complete sense.
